Go on a Sightseeing Bus Tour to get familiar with the city’s highlights

When you’re visiting a new place, one of the best ways to quickly become accustomed to it is to take a walking tour. Often, these tours can be booked ahead of time and are a great way to discover the key attractions of a city.

There are a number of different walking tours available in San Diego, depending on your interests. From the historical Gaslamp Quarter to Balboa Park, you’ll find many options to suit your needs.

If you’re a fan of baseball, you’ll want to check out Petco Park, the home stadium for the Padres. There are a number of tour options available to see exclusive areas, including the press box, the dugout and the player’s tunnel.

Visit a Local Brewery and taste the beer that San Diego is famous for

There are many different local craft breweries to choose from when you’re in San Diego, each with its own unique brewing style. A brewery tour is a great way to learn about the different types of beer and how they are made.

Embark on a Wild Animal Safari at San Diego Zoo or Safari Park

The San Diego Zoo is the most popular attraction in the city, with a huge range of animals to see. While it is a bit more expensive than the zoos in other cities, it’s still a worthwhile trip for the whole family to enjoy.

It’s home to more than 3,000 animals, ranging from lions and elephants to California condors. You’ll also be able to interact with the animals as you go on the zoo’s tours and see them up close.

While you’re at the zoo, be sure to also check out Birch Aquarium, which is located in a beautiful hilltop location on La Jolla shores. It’s home to over 3,000 different fish and other marine creatures.

For those who like a little history with their adventure, the USS Midway is definitely worth checking out. Originally built as an aircraft carrier, this ship has seen action in World War II and Operation Desert Storm.

A visit to this historic relic includes a self-guided audio tour narrated by former sailors, as well as a number of different information panels, volunteer-led talks and videos. You can also try out a flight simulator if you’re feeling adventurous!
